June will mark 10 years since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada presented its 94 Calls of Action to Canada. On May 24, Redeemer, Bloor St. will host a gathering to reflect on reconciliation with Indigenous people, to learn about the progress in living out the Calls to Action, and to take practical steps in support of the calls. Speakers will include Douglas Sanderson of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation in Manitoba and a University of Toronto law professor who is the Visiting Indigenous Scholar at Redeemer; Douglas Sinclair of the Peguis First Nation of Manitoba and publisher of the Indigenous Watchdog; and the Ven.Rosalyn Kantlaht’ant Elm, chaplain from Six Nations and director of Indigenous Ministries, Anglican Church of Canada.
