Hyejin Kwon, the music director of St. Anne, Toronto, conducts the combined choirs of St. Anne’s, the University of Toronto Allegro Student Choir and the Chinese Canadian Choir of Toronto at a concert in the church’s parish hall in February. The concert, which included soloists and a Korean drumming ensemble from St. Timothy Presbyterian Church, commemorated the fire that destroyed St. Anne’s sanctuary in 2024 and marked a moment of renewal and new beginnings for the church. ‘The event was a vibrant celebration of renewal, cultural diversity and community, honoring both shared loss and collective hope for the future,’ says Ms. Kwon. The event was part of COSA Canada’s Pops Lunar New Year Concert Series, of which St. Anne’s is a member.
